Description
The Borla S-Type Cat-Back Exhaust System (140838BC) was developed for the unique requirements of the C8 Corvette. Its S-Type sound has an aggressive, balanced character and deep tone, designed to add excitement without exhaust drone. The system includes both AFM and NPP dual-mode exhaust valves.
Borla’s Polyphonic Harmonizer uses patented units with pipes of different diameters and lengths to blend multiple exhaust notes into a clean, rich, full-bodied sound. Patented SwitchFire technology replaces the turbulent center intersection of a conventional X-pipe, blending combustion pulses from both sides of the engine for a custom aggressive sound.

The kit is sold as a complete system. For the black chrome tips, Borla does not recommend Stainless Steel Polish P/N 21461; clean them with hot water and a microfiber cloth. Other tip options are listed as part numbers 140839 (bright chrome) and 140839CF (carbon fiber).
After installation, the AFM and NPP exhaust-valve controllers should be recalibrated according to GM Document ID 5406413. Borla recommends having this service performed at a Chevrolet dealer. Installing components that bypass, defeat, or disable emissions-control technology may violate state and federal Clean Air Act requirements.
