Description
The CORSA Performance Sport Exhaust System, part number 14768 (Summit Racing part number CSE-14768; UPC 847466012969), is a rear axle-back, dual-exit system with rear-center outlets. It is sold as a kit and is not remanufactured.
The system uses natural-finish 304 stainless steel construction and 2.75-inch intermediate pipes and tailpipes. Two natural-finish, chambered mufflers are included; each has a single inlet and single outlet and is made from 403 stainless steel. Included hardware and four polished 304 stainless steel tips complete the kit. Each tip has a 4.50-inch outlet, round shape, slant cut, and beveled double-wall edge.
CORSA describes its Sport systems as straight-through and non-restrictive, using patented reflective sound cancellation to reduce droning low frequencies for a crisp, clean exhaust sound. The design is also intended to reduce backpressure and support horsepower and torque production. CORSA Sport systems feature mandrel bends and are designed for installation without cutting or welding.
Installation note: Installing this system removes the factory NPP exhaust valves. The source notes that a tune is required to deactivate AFM (four-cylinder mode) and avoid check-engine lights resulting from removal of the factory valves and disconnection of their wiring. It also warns that AFM operation without the valves can produce a loud, choppy, undesirable low-frequency sound.
Important: It is illegal to install parts or components that bypass, defeat, or render inoperative manufacturer technology and design required to reduce vehicle emissions to meet state and federal Clean Air Act standards. Catalytic converters are not included.
