Description
Convert the rear drum brakes to disc brakes with the Wilwood Superlite 4R Rear Drum-to-Disc Brake Kit, part number 140-17542-DR (Summit Racing part number WIL-140-17542-DR). This kit is designed for select Chevy and GMC trucks and SUVs with a GM 8.5- or 9.5-inch differential case. Confirm vehicle and axle fitment before ordering.
The kit includes a 12.88-inch (327.15 mm) diameter, 1.10-inch-thick vented rear rotor with a cross-drilled/slotted surface and a 5 x 5.00-inch (5 x 127.00 mm) bolt pattern. The two-piece Spec37 rotor has 48 curved vanes and an E-coated finish. A red forged-billet-aluminum Superlite four-piston rear caliper and BP-10 street-performance pads are included.
An internal-drum parking brake is retained. The BP-10 pads are described by Wilwood as providing smooth, consistent response and long wear over a broad temperature range; other pad compounds are available. The kit is intended for bolt-on installation and is compatible with Wilwood front kits, factory ABS systems, and the OE master cylinder.
